Jody May

Pastor Jody with his wife Heather and their two children Baylee and Avery moved to Dallas Georgia in 2008 after serving in the Wellington Campus of Lifechurch.tv as an Associate Campus Pastor overseeing Discipleship and Local Mission work. While living in Palm Beach He completed a MS in Education and Mental Health Counseling and along with pastoring ministered as a private counselor and an educator in the Palm Beach County School System. Jody and Heather left their childhood home and came to N. Georgia with a desire to raise a family outside the confines of the Urban Landscape. Upon their arrival they became involved in a church in Cartersville GA, Oak Leaf Church, which introduced them to the world of church planting. It was while serving at Oak Leaf that Jody learned of the importance of church planting and the calling to not just support but to establish new church works. Since that time, they welcomed their third child Charlee, Jody returned to school and completed his Master of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and planted a church in their town of Dallas where they live. Their initial church plant of the Journey Dallas merged with another local church, The Journey of Hiram resulting in the meshing of two church bodies. This time of change and renewal took them and the church on an actual Journey to a new location and birthed the new identity of Highlands Community Church. Although the name has changed the mission is still the same, to plant a church that Glorifies God by making Servant Disciples of Jesus.
