Bill Alderson

Bill Alderson

Pastor Bill Alderson and his wife Bonnie have three children (Ian, Zach, and Genevieve), and live in Kennesaw, Georgia.  Bill and his family moved to the Atlanta area in 2008 when Bill’s job moved its corporate office to Sandy Springs. A former atheist, God had been working on Bill’s heart and calling him to repentance for some time.  The couple soon found and became members of The Journey Church of Austell, where both came to God and were baptized.  Over the following years, Bill grew and learned under the guidance of Pastor Jason Martin, and would take on several oversight roles in the church. On Dec. 23, 2013 he was greatly blessed to be ordained as Elder by the leadership and congregation the Journey Church (then in Hiram, GA).  In 2016, Bill and Pastor Jody of The Journey Dallas made the decision to consolidate their two churches into a new body, which became what is now Highlands Community Church. Currently, Bill is focused on growing the student ministry program at the church, leading missional outreach opportunities, and seeking to grow the operational side of the church. As a lay Elder, Bill works full-time outside of the church as a leader in the IT/Marketing space.
