Bill Alderson

Pastor Bill Alderson serves as one of the elders at Highlands Community Church in Dallas, Georgia, where he has faithfully shepherded since 2013. Bill and his wife, Bonnie, have been married since 1995 and live in Kennesaw, Georgia. They have three children — Ian, Zach, and Genevieve — who continue to be their greatest joy and ministry. A former atheist, Bill spent years wrestling with questions of faith until God, in His mercy, drew him to repentance through the truth of Scripture. In 2008, after relocating to the Atlanta area for work, Bill and Bonnie began attending The Journey Church of Austell, where both came to faith in Christ and were baptized together in 2010. During this time, Bill grew in his love for God’s Word and soon began serving in various leadership roles. On December 23, 2013, Bill was ordained as an elder by the leadership and congregation of The Journey Church. In 2016, The Journey churches in Austell and Dallas united to form Highlands Community Church, where Bill continues to serve alongside Pastors Jody May and Onan Coca. Today, Bill focuses on student ministry, missional outreach, and church operations, helping equip believers to live faithfully and love deeply in their communities. His teaching and leadership reflect his passion for sound doctrine, grace-filled truth, and a gospel that transforms lives.
